Amy L. Gillihan, DMD
Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology

Originally from Southern Illinois, Dr. Amy Gillihan received her Bachelor's degree in Biology from Southern Illinois University (Honors Program, BA 1996). She then attended Southern Illinois University School of Dentistry. Upon earning her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree, cum laude, she was recognized with the American Academy of Periodontology and the The Congress of Oral Implantologists student awards. Dr. Gillihan attended UMKC for her three year periodontal specialty residency. She is currently a member in good standing with the American Board of Periodontology, American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association, and the Greater Kansas City Dental Society.


Dr. Gillihan enjoys all aspects of periodontal treatment. Her emphasis on patient education and patient comfort, as well as keeping up to date with the latest periodontal techniques, enables her to provide patients with the best quality of care. She has a wide range of experience in different areas of periodontics including gum disease prevention and treatment, gum grafting, bone grafting, dental implants, and tooth extraction.
